Understanding AHECC (the Australian Harmonised Export Commodity Classificstion system) is one in a series of short courses created by ITALC to provide a simple to understand approach to key topics in the international freight forwarding sector. Designed with the new industry entrant in mind, this course seeks to provide information and learning on this key topic.

ITALC recommends this course as part of an induction program for new employees or as a refresher for experienced staff returning to the workforce.

The aim of this course is to help you:

•  Identify the purpose of the AHECC system
• Identify the advantages of using this classification system
• Classify a given export commodity

The course will take about 45 minutes to complete and has an assessment with an 80% pass mark. You can take the course as often as you like to go over the information until you are completely comfortable that have learnt the material.

The course has audio so you will also need to have a set of speakers attached to your computer to get the best out of the module.
